I began my career as a lawyer at Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco, working in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions after Harvard Law School. I didn’t last long, my heart wasn’t in it, but the education was invaluable.

From there I moved into investment banking at Deutsche Bank Securities (formerly Alex. Brown), where I ultimately became a Managing Director and Head of US Internet and West Coast Media Investment Banking. It was the ’90s and the early days of the internet industry. My group worked with many of the earliest and most recognizable brands such as America Online, Amazon.com, Netflix, eBay and Google. We were advocating for ideas like electronic commerce, targeted content, broadband and mobile before most people believed they would amount to anything. My team also provided financial and strategic advisory services to large cap companies in the entertainment and cable & satellite industries, such as The Walt Disney Company, Liberty Media and Bertelsmann, with respect to their developing and increasingly important digital businesses.

We were pushing for new paradigms in the consumer and media industries, and a lot of that work meant breaking with tradition. I saw what becomes possible when capital is put behind ideas that haven’t proven themselves yet, and I also learned how decisions made with good intentions can have consequences no one planned for.

I’ve since retired from corporate life, and now bring that experience to the organizations and causes I support, particularly those focused on women’s issues, such as leadership, education, non-violent security, justice and inclusion in the peace process.

I am also CEO and Founder of Reach Pleasure, an early-stage company focused on women’s pleasure education because I strongly believe pleasure and embodiment are connected to a woman’s lifeforce, voice and vitality.

Say hello.
Say hello.
Say hello.
If you’re hosting an event, organizing a conversation about women’s leadership or peace, or have an introduction in mind, I’d love to hear from you. Send me a note and tell me what you’re planning.
