I believe women have a vital role in peace building, particularly in the communities where the consequences of conflict are felt most directly. I also believe that peace efforts must include a realistic assessment of gender-based violence and that the need for women’s perspectives and lived realities must be a part of our technology algorithms of the future in order to create a just society.

To this end, I’ve joined delegations and feminist governance building efforts in Kenya, South Africa, Guatemala, and Jordan in solidarity with women. I have also participated in community building efforts to make education more accessible to women and girls in Senegal and Nepal.

I firmly believe that women will play a key role in bringing peace to this planet and their education, safety and right of full expression are critical to enabling this. As the Dalai Lama said at the Vancouver Peace Summit in 2009 “The world will be saved by [sic] women.”

My most meaningful contribution these days is through my work with the Nobel Women’s Initiative. An organization comprised of 9 women who have won the Nobel Peace Prize and are committed to work in solidarity with women’s organizations and activists globally to build peace, defend justice and champion equality. I am a member of their Philanthropy Circle and, as such, attend numerous women-focused delegations and conferences globally to support their efforts. I will serve as NWI’s Co-Chair for the 2027-2028 term. I also serve on the Advisory Board of The Soul of Money Institute, an organization committed to providing educational and transformational programs to empower women to live a life of purpose.

If you’re hosting an event, organizing a conversation about women’s leadership or peace, or have an introduction in mind, I’d love to hear from you. Send me a note and tell me what you’re planning.
